On July 15, we were delighted to bring back to life our first instalment of the DELVE programme for 2022 to visit Galway International Arts Festival, Galway Community Circus and Macnas with the selected artists Aoibhinn O’Dea & Lysette Golden

The DELVE (Discover, Explore, Learn, Visualise and Engage) programme – aims to support artists to experience and be inspired by art through a range of festivals and programmes throughout Ireland. We go, we see, we watch, we listen, we learn, we connect with art and art makers and we get inspired.

Together, they attended the following:

  • LifeLine by Galway Community Circus
  • Les Girafes by Compagnie Off
  • Silent Disco Walking Tour by Guru Dudu
  • Visual Arts Exhibitions by Ana Maria Pacheco and the Irish Pavillion Entanglement.

Here’s what our artists had to say about their DELVE experience:

It was such a pleasure to take part in the Delve program with ISACS. The Galway international arts festival was just electric and having never experienced it as the artist, I am today was totally complimentary to the current stage I am at creatively.

Lucy was a wonderful host, introducing us to such fantastic impressive people and creating a space for organic networking. It is so important to meet like-minded people in the circus community because not only does it keep the buzz going, it allows it to be nurtured and continue to grow.

The energy of the Arts Festival was amazing and to see the various spectacles take place, and interact with the artists was revitalizing and inspiring. Thank you truly for this opportunity.

I was so delighted to be part of Delve at the Galway International Arts Festival. It was a great experience, where I met a lot of artists and performers working in different areas of the festival.

Being part of Delve was a brilliant way to explore GIAF, as I was able to see a lot of diverse artworks over the course of one weekend, including street performances, exhibitions, gigs and a participatory street performance, where we sang and danced through the streets. I was introduced to many artists, and we were able to discuss each other’s work.

I had the chance to discuss current and future works with artists and get advice from professionals in this field. I am very inspired after this weekend, by all the people I have met and the diverse works I have seen.

Thank you Lucy Medlycott & ISACS for such a fun and welcoming weekend.
