The ISACS Network recently had the pleasure of hosting the ISACS Pro Programme at the Spraoi International Street Arts Festival 2023. The initiative included Pitch, StreetTalk & a Spraoi Studio visit – we also provided two emerging ISACS artists with the DELVE bursary.
Pitch is a mentorship programme developed in partnership with Culture Ireland to allow emerging ISACS artists to present their ready-to-tour show in a professional environment. It took place on August 4th in Garter Lane Arts Centre at 11 am. The chosen artists – Elysia McMullen, Kathleen Doherty, Angelique Ross, Elisa Gallo Rosso, Jazzville Productions, Curious State, Edaein Samuels & Peter Moran a.k.a. Those two idiots – had the opportunity to pitch their work & ideas to an audience of international programmers and bookers from Germany, France, the Netherlands, Catalonia, the UK and Estonia during Spraoi Festival. Get to know the international guests here.
The following morning we hosted StreetTalk, also in Garter Lane. The roundtable this year was about Nurturing Practical European Cultural Connections, moderated by Andrew Loretto. The event offered an opportunity to hear from national and international programmers, professionals and artists who recognise the importance of partnership and gather insights on the wider sector at a European level.
On Sunday 6th, we visited the Spraoi Studio visit and our international guests and artists were delighted to see where the magic is created.
Here is what our artists and guests said about their experience:
I loved how supportive the ISACS and Culture Ireland team were. The standard of the international programmers and the whole experience were so well run.
– Kathleen O Doherty, Pitch artist
We attended the Pitch at Spraoi Festival. It was run very well, we each had time in the morning to do a practice of our pitch and to get feedback on it. Before the Pitch we had a coaching session with Culture Ireland and ISACS this was very beneficial to give us advice on how to pitch and all those extra tips and pointers!
– Elysia McMullen, Pitch artist
I felt really looked after and supported. I made lots of connections for future touring and advice about making more connections.
