Here at ISACS, we like to keep an open-door policy, welcoming any of our members who would like to come and avail of our support in Wexford town.
Poppy Emer Greenford from Bumble Movement Arts was with us in April 2022, here below is her testimonial on the overall experience.
If you’ve ever had an artist support one on one experience, you know how useful they are in reimagining ideas and finding your next step. While these are usually hour-long sessions, this was four whole days! Staying with Lucy and her family in their beautiful home, sharing meals and walking dogs. We also had a little excursion to Dublin for the Theatre Forum Open space with Improbable where I met lots of inspiring people and felt part of a new community.
Emer and Lucy hit the big smoke with a trip to Smock Alley Theatre to join Theatre Forum for their Open Space event.
I’ve recently moved home to Ireland and am relearning all the things I thought I knew about the industry that are surprisingly different to the UK. My desk time was spent writing applications, updating my website and researching opportunities for the future. I also learned a lot about ISACS as an organisation and how much they work to create and sustain relationships and opportunities between the artists and programmers. This was our third attempt at scheduling my residency due to various covid related issues, so it was really great to finally get there and have some time to focus on the admin side of my work.
It wouldn’t be a visit to Wexford without the obligatory walk on Curracloe Beach.
Thank you, Lucy and Team, I felt really welcome and supported during my time at the office.
