Earlier this year, during the August Bank holiday, we were delighted to bring DELVE artists Jenni Nikinmaa and Belén Marianela Vergara Amado to experience the Waterford Spraoi Festival and DIVE Programme.
The DELVE (Discover, Explore, Learn, Visualise and Engage) programme – aims to support artists to experience and be inspired by art through a range of festivals and programmes throughout Ireland. We go, we see, we watch, we listen, we learn, we connect with art and art makers and we get inspired.
Here is what Belén and Jenni said about their experience:
Thanks to this great opportunity, I have been fortunate to share an entire weekend with international and national producers, directors, managers, communicators, artists, etc. in Ireland. From them I learnt about their experiences and career within the field of art, which was totally inspiring for me, motivating me to achieve my own goals and creations, to connect with others, and to know that out there is a world full of inspiring minds that create art. I was also totally grateful to be able to see the variety of street performances as part of Spraoi Festival, which I found motivating and has helped me listen, observe, learn and find delight in the work of great artists and directors.

I wanted to see street performances and circus and meet people making the work as part of DELVE and to connect with the sector. This happened, as well as meeting festival programmers. All in all, it was great craic, I felt really minded and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
