I am an aerial fabric/rope teacher at both Aerial Cirque and Taking Flight Dublin. I began practicing aerial silks in 2017 and teaching in 2021. Having taught in the post-primary education sector since 2005, I am very interested in applying my teaching experience and passion for education, literature and drama to aerial dance.
I am very curious about movement and how different bodies navigate their strengths and limitations. I am especially interested in aerial dance and circus as an activity to promote inclusion, creativity and fitness for all.
In 2021 and 2022, I received Arts Council Agility Awards and a Bursary Award in 2023. My current focus is on exploring interesting pathways of movement in sequences. I am also very interested in the narrative aspect of aerial dance and how creative pieces communicate ideas and convey concepts. A lot of my own creative ideas for aerial stem from my interest in poetry/ literature and I enjoy exploring the relationship between these two art forms.
In 2023 I completed a Drama Facilitator’s certification with Youth Theatre Ireland. I also graduated as a Circus Instructor from Ecole Nationale du Cirque, Montreal in June 2024. I am also a certified Pilates and Barre instructor. I also enjoy Tango and Heels dancing.
