Safire Hikari is pleased to share two new pieces of work SHIFT and COLLAPSE.
SHIFT explores the layered meanings of its title — in Irish slang (to kiss), as the physical act of transferring weight, and as the impulse to transform, evolve, or change. Through these lenses, we investigate sensuality, vulnerability, and transformation as they appear in movement and human connection.
COLLAPSE is a research-driven, low-fly harness duet by aerial dancer Safire Hikari and dance filmmaker indexthumb, developed as an interdisciplinary contemporary circus work exploring dance as communal medicine. The project asks how the body carries emotional, social, and political weight, and what ritualised movement can offer in moments of fracture, exhaustion, and collective uncertainty.
