ISACS Network in association with Culture Ireland will once again participate and connect with our international friends and colleagues interested in the development of Street arts at Fira Tàrrega – International Performing Arts Market.
Established in 1981, Fira Tàrrega has been a beacon of light in the development of performing arts; striving for cultural democratisation, inclusion, equality, accessibility, sustainability and transparency. The main focus of their work being on creation for public space, working across and between a diversity of mediums.
ISACS Artist – Laura Murphy
This year in addition to our regular ISACS participation at La Llotja we are thrilled to present ISACS artist Laura Murphy.
Abacus
Laura’s work Abacus will take part in the main programme of Fira Tarrega.
An exploration of women’s work, it explores individuality and freedom, in the midst of mechanical routine. Choreographic juggling patterns evolve in precise and exact forms blending dance, circus and street together in new ways.
Abacus is kindly supported by Culture Ireland, Dance Ireland and ISACS. Abacus is co-produced by Laura Murphy and fellow ISACS artist Kristyn Fontanella, in association with Once Off Productions.

What Laura is looking forward to
I am really looking forward to bringing Abacus to Fira Tàrrega in September, particularly after a year when we have all missed the energy of live performances. With a cast of nine female contemporary dancers from Ireland, I am thrilled to be part of this exciting festival, for five outdoor performances of Abacus in the city. We look forward to seeing the best Street Art from all over the world, to meeting fellow artists and absorbing all Fira Tàrrega has to offer.Laura Murphy
