Artist Statement
My artistic practice is aerial/vertical dance. My background is in street theatre and
performances that engage topics of body image, femininity and ceremony. I am a multidisciplinary artist that merges song, theatre and aerial dance. I am interested in creating performances that are thought provoking, examine raw truths and are visually stimulating for the audience. I trained originally at Circus Elleboog in Amsterdam in a social circus which was a great foundation to learning about community and circus. This experience inspired me to travel and perform fire shows throughout Europe, eventually studying swinging trapeze and dance at Carampa Circus Madrid. I have attended several aerial dance festivals in Ireland and in Europe. I am continually inspired by aerial dance and developing by own creative language to this artform
As an artist I am compelled to find an inner resonance in my work, where my
movements reflect an inner truth and communicate a deeper sense of who I am.
Audience engagement is paramount for me as a performer and I believe standing in your truth creates an open dialogue with the audience.
