Current Projects
Cal the Musical
A comedy, juggling, meta-circus musical conveying the everyday struggles of a modern-day circus artist. Currently, in its 2nd revision, Cal is performing the act whilst simultaneously improving on and extending it.
ON POINT
Two men on the edge. In the most absurd, impressive and dangerous way, Cal Courtney and Samuel Rhyner play a game. They try to keep the balance between, above, below, for and against each other. Falling is not an option.
What starts as a game develops into a common challenge. Every step, touch or shift must be exact. ON POINT. They become completely dependent on each other, but the question is: Who will persist? And for how long?
The duet is reworked on location. It can be performed on a playground, in the park, on a square, in a sports hall… but also in theatres! The structure of the performance is fixed, but it is adapted based on the possibilities that the location presents.
Directed by Piet van Dycke
A Perfect Deal
Nothing is what it seems in A Perfect Deal. Like shady bankers, the juggling men-in-suits Francesco Barba, Cal Courtney and Fabian Krestel conjure up juggling balls and make them appear and disappear. From up-close, they manipulate your perception. Are they each other’s accomplices or opponents? Charlatans or companions?
Directed by Pia Meuthen for Panama Pictures
