I ran away and joined the circus, touring as a clown and performing for over 11 million people with Ringling Brother’s and Barnum & Bailey’s “Greatest Show on Earth”. Living on a circus train was amazing and we performed 550 shows in 11 months. To get onto the show I was trained by Master Clowns at Ringling Brother’s and Barnum & Bailey’s Clown College and one was one of the few students chosen for the big show.
I currently apply my clowning skills to magic, juggling, and cabaret. I love writing and create characters to use my skills for one man shows that regularly sell out across Ireland and Northern Ireland.
I have performed at The White House, Boston Garden, the Superdome, Leinster House, and appeared on a US national TV special with Dick Van Dyke. I survived a leopard escaping backstage, 13 falls a show on cement, a voodoo ceremony performed on my trunk. But my most daunting acheivement was a show for my daughter’s Senior Infant Class.
I have clowned with avante-guarde, punk rock, French, anarchist, Circ Archaos. Their daring style and relentless innovation inspired me to begin putting together my own shows.
Other circus experience includes performing as an advance clown for The Big Apple Circus.
I came to Ireland in 1991 and was one of the first professional jugglers in the country. My first paid juggling engagement was in 1981. I have been a full-time entertainer since 1987.
I love to make people laugh and have enjoyed touring the world with my skills. Because of my connection to Ringling, I have been called “Ireland’s Greatest Showman”.
Currently I live in Dublin and run an enertainment agency called Brilliant Events. It is wonderful to perform with and train entertainers from all over the world. We have been making children and parents happy since 1995 and we all love what we do.
