Art & the Outdoors is a free family-friendly event inspired by artists who moved out of their studios to paint en plein air or out of doors. The event takes place on Parnell Square North in front of the Hugh Lane Gallery on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th of August 2023.

  • What will be there?

There will be a variety of activities taking place at Art & the Outdoors, including:

  • Artist-led outdoor drawing and printmaking
  • Bui Bolg dressing and installations.
  • Street spectacle
  • Face painting
  • Poetry readings by poets Samuel Yakura, Kerrie O’Brien, Sree Sen, and Grace Wilentz
  • Live music performances by Max Greenwood – piano and voice, Bow Musique Quartet, Varo, Adrian Hart, Ryan McAuley Duo, Sive, and The Hot Dots
  • When is it?

Art & the Outdoors takes place on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th August 2023. The event is open from 12 pm to 4 pm on both days.

Art & the Outdoors is free to attend.

  • The event is suitable for all ages.
  • There will be a variety of art materials available for use, so you can bring your own or use the ones provided.
  • There will be a raffle each day with prizes including family tickets to the Hugh Lane Gallery and vouchers for the Gallery’s café.
