The ISACS Network are deeply saddened to learn of the sudden passing of our esteemed board member and treasurer, Brian Rafferty. Brian joined the board of ISACS in 2022 and quickly became a reliable and trusting pair of hands who we could depend on.
Having joined the team at the Irish Aerial Creation Centre in 2021, Brian quickly became a vital source of knowledge for a rapidly developing sector. Brian’s entrepreneurial and project management skills brought the centre forward through the largest capital infrastructure project for circus arts that this country has seen.
He both project managed, oversaw and negotiated with countless partners to create and build a world class creation centre for the development of aerial and circus arts in Limerick. His contribution to the centre, to the ISACS network and to these artforms is incalculable.
Within ISACS he was a champion for insurance reform, constantly articulating the need for access to fair insurance product for education in circus arts, and for young people. His passing leaves a massive void in ISACS and in the world of Irish circus arts. We are devastated. Our thoughts are with his loving family, partner, friends and relations at this sad time.
