ISACS is delighted to announce Claire McKervey and Annique van Niekerk are the two ISACS artists invited to join Helen, ISACS’ Operations Manager, to experience the Irish Aerial Dance Festival for their 15th-anniversary edition. While in Donegal, the artists will also attend the Wild Atlantic Weekend’s Circus Éire show as part of the Earagail Arts Festival.
DELVE: Discover, Explore, Learn, Visualise and Engage – aims to support artists to experience and be inspired by art through various festivals and programmes throughout Ireland. We go, we see, we watch, we listen, we learn, we connect with art and art makers, and we get inspired.
Here is what they say about their expectations:
I have always wanted to attend IADF since I started training aerial in 2013. The landscape of aerial artists has changed so much since then and I am very inspired by contemporary circus. I recently received my first couple of funding opportunities and am looking for collaborators to make art with. I believe the IADF is a fantastic place to meet enthusiastic likeminded performers to create ensemble works with and it’s exactly the kind of place that shapes the ecosystem of contemporary circus and aerial dance, where my passions lie.

I believe DELVE at the IDAF would be a wonderful way to connect with artists, pick their brains on their processes of creating, training and teaching as well as and having the potential to discover people to work with, something I am craving within my own practice.
