ISACS was delighted to attend Pitch’d Circus and Street Arts Festival with ISACS Members Mary Aherne, Louis Plissoneau, Renata Dima and Christopher Moore as the DELVE artists to join the ISACS team.
The DELVE (Discover, Explore, Learn, Visualise and Engage) programme aims to support artists to experience and be inspired by art through various festivals and programmes throughout Ireland. We go, we see, we watch, we listen, we learn, we connect with art and art makers, and we get inspired.
Here is what the artists said about the weekend:
My overall experience with the programmes, workshops, and activities I attended was incredibly enriching. One of the highlights was the opportunity to meet professional performers, which allowed me to build valuable contacts in the industry.
I gained insight into the world of production, learning about the important roles producers play in bringing a show to life. This experience deepened my understanding of the intricate processes involved in staging a performance.
Additionally, getting a behind-the-scenes look at a show was fascinating. It provided a unique perspective on the teamwork and creativity that go into every production. Overall, these experiences have significantly enhanced my appreciation for the performing arts and have motivated me to pursue further opportunities in this field.

The program was super well organised: everything was convenient and taken care of. Cristina took care of us like family and it was wonderful to not have to worry about anything but know that we’ll be on time to see all the shows. The show selection was also very good.
On top of this, the producer workshops were very insightful, as a solo artist, i did not realise how useful working with a producer could be.

Delve at Pitchd was an excellent experience. The program allowed me to meet professionals in the arts whom I would not have otherwise, such as producers, directors, and performers. I connected with these individuals and will contunue to keep up with their work online, and hopefully in person again.
As part of the programme we attended a critical feedback session after one of the performances. What I really liked about this was hearing the feedback given by the more experienced individuals present. I appreciated hearing their perspective on things such as staging/lighting/sound. As an aerialist I often focus just on the physical performance, but listening to the feedback made me more aware of the other elements of a show that I need to consider when putting together my own work
