In July 2024 ISACS was delighted to bring DELVE artists Claire McKervey and Annique van Niekerk to experience the Irish Aerial Dance Festival for their 15th-anniversary edition. While in Donegal, the artists also attended the Wild Atlantic Weekend’s Circus Éire show as part of the Earagail Arts Festival.
The DELVE (Discover, Explore, Learn, Visualise and Engage) programme – aims to support artists to experience and be inspired by art through a range of festivals and programmes throughout Ireland. We go, we see, we watch, we listen, we learn, we connect with art and art makers and we get inspired.
Here is what Annique said about their experience:
Words words words – too many want to spill out after an intense weekend of DELVE at the IADF and Earagail Arts Festival. My fellow Delver Claire and I, guided by Helen Collins (ISACS Operations Manager), witnessed 22 acts and over 40 incredible artists in 48 hours. The hard work, diversity in approach and creativity was great.
I’m scribbling down so many shaky notes on the bus home right now. Truly inspired by the standout performers, many of whom are poised to become iconic original voices in contemporary circus in Ireland. Can’t wait to see where their journeys take them!
