The ISACS Network was delighted to partner with Bill and Fred Productions & Circus Factory towards supporting two ISACS artists to participate in their Dark Clown workshop with Peta Lily.

The Dark Clowning workshop with Peta Lily was an brilliant experience. Peta’s facilitation was exemplary—her awareness, kindness, and care created a safe and supportive environment for exploration. It was evident that she approached the work with deep understanding and sensitivity, making space for everyone to engage fully and without judgment. The workshop struck a perfect balance between practice and discovery.
We had the chance to refine existing skills while also learning new tools and techniques that will undoubtedly enhance our craft. The sessions were both challenging and deeply rewarding, providing a unique opportunity to delve into the complexities of Dark Clowning in a way that felt accessible and enriching. My overall experience with the workshop was very positive. The quality of facilitation by Peta Lily was wonderful, demonstrating a respectful, flexible and mindful approach that created a supportive environment for all participants to engage and explore fully. The venue, Circus Factory Cork, was well-suited to the activities, and its location near food shops added to the convenience. The participants were highly engaged and willing to learn, which created a dynamic and collaborative atmosphere throughout. This sense of openness and curiosity enriched the workshop and made it not only a learning opportunity but also a space to explore dark clown techniques and grow as a group. The coordination team was fantastic, ensuring everything ran smoothly and allowing participants to fully focus on the creative process.
