The last LEAP programme addition of 2019 is Augustina Vasile. She will be assisting the team in the following 6 months (until May 2020) with communication and event planning activities while also learning new skills in managing an artists’ network and advocating for street arts and circus.

ISACS started the LEAP programme in 2017. This programme is a part of the professional training programme that offers future arts leaders experience in research, communications and event coordination. LEAP means Learn, Experience, Achieve, and Prepare and by the means of the learning-by-doing approach participants receive real-world experience working in an arts organisation.

Here is a small testimonial from Augustina which will help you get to know her before meeting her in person in ISACS’ next events.

Hi! I am Augustina and I come from Bucharest, Romania. In the last 10 years I’ve worked as a communication and PR specialist for educational and cultural programmes. A few months ago I decided to apply for the Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs scheme because I wanted to plan an initiative of my own: a professional development and career orientation programme for Romanian emerging artists. This is how I came across ISACS. And it was love at first sight. I truly believe that being part of this team and the LEAP trainee programme that they run will offer me the perfect context to learn and set the foundation of a strong network of young artists when I go back home. I am very keen to understand the world of street arts and circus better and, why not, maybe even support this art scene back in Romania too.
