About Kate Dunne

Headshot Copy Kate Dunne

Kate is a full time aerial dance artist based between Ireland and Portugal. Her aerial practice is informed by her education at the National College of Art and Design; the combination of expressive movement with elements of visual art inspire her work. Her most recent work, Sl(t)áinte, is an aerial installation piece which had a sold out run at the Dublin Fringe Festival 2023. She has also worked with Aduantas Aerial, creating site specific outdoor shows since 2019, as a co-creative director, producer and performer. Currently, she works across Ireland, the UK, Asia, the Middle East and greater Europe teaching workshops in original choreography and artistic methodology. She has also been working on social circus projects in line with her MA research in gender and globalisation at NUIG and as an artistic and creative aerial mentor.
