David Brophy, in collaboration with Dublin City Council in partnership with Sing Ireland, and with integral support from Creative Ireland are delighted to present SING A SONG OF DOCKLANDS, a night of singing to celebrate our city by the sea at the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre.
In 2022, Dublin City Council and partners Sing Ireland, supported by Creative Ireland, commissioned four new songs to be developed with the local communities of the Docklands.
The awardees were:
1. Ringsend/Irishtown – Max Greenwood
2. Grand Canal/Pearse Street – Alain Servant ( ISACS Member)
3. North Wall Sheriff Street – Carmel Whelan / Justine Nantale
4. East Wall – Macdara Yeates
Participating groups were all local to the Docklands, such as the Dockers Preservation Society, the Ringsend Irishtown Community Centre, City Quay National School & Central Model Senior School and the residents of Grand Canal Dock and Pearse Street communities.
The commissions will be supported by Sing Ireland affiliate choirs King’s Hospital School Choir, Cór na nÓg, Guinness Choir and Maryfield College Choir in a night of songs and celebration with Musical Director David Hayes. Guest supporting acts Jerry Fish, DJ Robbie Kitt and Ciarán Kelly will also be performing on the night.
