Delve: Dublin Dance Festival
8-12th May 2019
"I attended Dublin Dance Festival’s Fast Track to dance, as part of the DELVE programme with ISACS. This involved free attendance to numerous events in the festival over the space of a few days. For the duration of the Fast Track programme you’re with a group of around ten other people, with whom you attend the performances and talks. Inbetween and after the various festival events there was organised time for discussions and feedback within the group, led by Niamh McCann and Lynette Moran. The other members of the group are not necessarily professional artists, though they may be, but most of them have some background in the arts. This could be in writing, directing, performing, administration, stage management, or, just a personal interest in attending shows as an audience member.
Personally, I found one of the best things about the DELVE programme was the opportunity to meet the other people in my group and during talks. We got to chat to some of the artists, and the Dublin Dance festival director Benjamin Perchet. Not only was it great to be around a group who all had an interest in the arts, and an eagerness to attend the shows, I also found the discussion periods hugely beneficial and insightful, both on a personal and professional level."
"[...] Plus, ISACS covers your travel and they took me out for pizza and beer. It’s a win-win."
