Thank you National Circus Festival, ISACS and my fellow delver Elysia! I had a super time!

Here is a festival that is incorporating fantastic high level workshops in varied circus arts disciplines from international and national teachers.

I have lots of new tips, tricks and movement ideas to work on and practice! Everybody was in a good mood and having the craic, the atmosphere was really inclusive and fun, its was a joy to be there.

The programme of performances was a really good mix of fantastic comedy and high skilled work. It was great to see circus performances in the church space outside the theatre. Irish and international performances in Siamsa Tire were really inspiring and a mix of skilled, physically engaging and beautiful works over all. The festival club acts were also really cool and I got to do my own act which was amazing to be able to perform my work in this festival too.

It was great to meet the international programmers over a lovely dinner and then again in the club atmosphere. It makes the meeting a little less formal which is more comfortable to interact.

We had a really interesting session on Liz Lerman's critical response process which was very insightful. I believe it's a necessary format to be introduced in to our awareness for responding to our peers so we can support them, in our own work reflections and the makers can benefit fully from feedback sessions.

Overall, the time table is really full so there is barely time to chat, which is probably a good thing because I love to chat!

The best thing about the festival are the people. Everybody is sound, open to share and help and learn from each other. There is a true sense of camaraderie. Everybody is at different levels in their disciplines but there is a willingness to improve, assist and support whenever they can. I was delighted to see my friends and peers performances and make new friends.

I had a special bond with my co-delver Elysia, because we share the same dance background and height! I had a super time partnering partying, chats and having the laughs with her!

Thank you and hopefully see you next year!
