Sorcas Gorman 2019

Core Creations are the lead facilitators for Sorcas Garman’  is a brand new Social Circus project facilitated by Core Creations and developed in partnership with the Irish Street Arts, Circus and Spectacle Network, FDYS, Wexford Arts Centre and Local Links.

This new initiative came about with the financial support of Wexford Local Development, as a way to engage young people in creative and physical activity.

The group meet at Wexford Arts Centre once a week and learn many skills such as juggling, stilt-walking, basic acro, hula hoop and many more.

‘We want to support young people to have the tools to grow a community. Social circus gives them those tools through expression, co-ordination, self-awareness, confidence and joy. This all means good things for local development, it means good things for the atmosphere and environment of a place, it means good things for the culture of a place and it ultimately means good things for a community. Positive societies, proactive societies and constructive caring societies breed happiness and happiness breeds everything else.’ said Enda Moran, lead facilitator with Core Creations.

‘Sorcas Garman’ started in February of this year and were proud to present their work to family and stakeholders in a private viewing last week. They will regroup in September when they will be busy preparing ideas and concepts as part of the Coolcotts Halloween festival.
