SEE HERE: Meet Tia Jorda & Rafal Sadownik at NCFI Tralee

ISACS are delighted to partner with Culture Ireland to bring International Programmers to attend and meet with ISACS artists at the National Circus Festival of Ireland, Tralee next week-end.
So come along and meet with Tià Jorda of Circaire, Mallorca and Rafał Sadownik of Carnaval Sztukmistrzow.

Tià Jorda – Circaire, Mallorca

Tià’s artistic training began at Di Marco Dramatic Center (Mallorca). Here he quickly became interested in a range of circus disciplines such as juggling, trapeze and clown. He then went on to study at "Circus Space" and with Philippe Gaulier (London) as well as the National Circus School in Cuba.

In 2002 Tià began working with Circ Cric, (Catalonia), and in 2005 Tià created the first contemporary circus company of the Balearic Islands, Circ Bover, with its own travelling Big Top.

In 2012, Circ Bover created the first circus centre in Mallorca, called Es Center de Circ in Sineu(Mallorca). This is a circus performance venue, combined with a school and a programme of resident artists, which Tià is currently the director.

Circ Bover continues to perform contemporary circus shows, combining circus with theater, live music and dance at many international platforms.

In addition they host an annual international circus festival each year in Alcúdia called Circaire. Last year they programmed Siolta Circus and are now looking forward to ways to expand these connections.

Rafał Sadownik – Carnaval Sztukmistrzow

Rafal is currently the head of the Ludic Arts and Culture Department (Workshops of Culture). Rafal holds a Masters in Philosophy, Architecture and Urban Planning engineering, is a graduate of European Studies and cultural studies and an athletics instructor.

He is also the founder, co-ordinator and artistic director of: Carnaval Sztukmistrzów, Poland’s biggest circus and outdoor arts festival, which includes Urban Highline, Sztukmistrze Academy, Traditional Games Festival and a Workshop of Physical Arts. He also founded and runs Poland’s first Adventure Playground "Sanctuary of Wild Children".
