New Year, New us!

Happy New Year 2019 from all of us at Irish Street Arts, Circus and Spectacle Network! We hope 2018 brought joy to your life and success to your professional career. For ISACS Network, 2018 was the busiest year up to date! Please look back at the highlights of our year in our 2018 Roundup. We would like to thanks all our staffmembersfunders and partners, and trainees for making it happen.

We're delighted to announce that the ISACS Network has secured funding under Arts Council of Ireland's strategic funding scheme and we're currently finalising another jammed packed annual programme for 2019! We are looking forward to focussing on Street Arts in 2019, after a fabulous year celebrating 250 years of Circus. Looking forward to hosting FRESH STREET#3!

ISACS Network is delighted to place Ireland under the international spotlights as we bring FRESH STREET#3, the third edition of the International Seminar for the Development of Street Arts to Galway this spring!

The theme of this FRESH STREET edition is ‘Place and Identity’ and it will attract over 250 professionals from all over Europe. The event is hosted by
 ISACS Network, in partnership with Circostrada and Galway 2020, European Capital of Culture at the National University of Ireland, Galway, with a one-day exploration of place and identity on the beautiful Inis Oírr – Aran Islands, from 22 – 24th May 2019. This flagship event of Circostrada will bring together professional artists, programmers, researchers, pedagogues, journalists, and policymakers from all over Europe and beyond for a key focus on street arts. Delegates will also experience a number of outstanding artistic performances.

To get a feel for FRESH STREET, check out FRESH STREET#2 after movie video at the 2017’s event, held in Portugal. You will even have a chance to see our CEO, Lucy Medlycott who was facilitating the event's plenary sessions.

In preparing for the international event ahead, we have expanded our team to include Alonso Lobato as the coordinator of FRESH STREET#3. 

First artistic performances announced!

As part of the event,
 ISACS Network and Galway 2020, have recently launched the first artistic performances calls for the conference, in partnership with Culture Ireland and Circostrada Network. The artistic programme will be offering opening performance at the National University of Ireland, Galway (May 22), site-specific performances on the island of Inis Oírr (May 23), and a closing performance in the city of Galway (May 24). 

The ISACS Network is also looking forward to presenting the selected artists in residence at FRESH STREET#3 Kate Boschetti and Liam Wilson, a new duo in juggling and street performance. Following a 4 week residency on the island of Inis Oirr, Aran Islands, Atlantic Ocean, Galway, Ireland, they will present a site-responsive work on the island of Inis Oírr in synergy with its people and distinctive natural setting, as part of the International Seminar for the Development of Street Arts. This residency is the result of a partnership between ISACS Network, the Áras Éanna Arts Centre and Galway2020. You can find out more about the Áras Éanna Artists in Residence in our recent news.

Plans for 2019.

You can already discover all our plans for years to come in our Strategic Plan 2019-2021. We will be announcing our final annual programme at our Annual General Meeting and Seminar Explore2019 this Autumn! Please keep an eye on our website, social media for more news and make sure you subscribed to our newsletter and updated your preferences after May 2018!
