The Irish Street Arts, Circus and Spectacle Network (ISACS) are very pleased to announce the creation of a new partnership between Ireland and the Balearic Islands in the form of an international residency exchange with the Irish Aerial Creation Centre (IACC) and The Performing Arts Research Centre – Centre d’Investigacio Escenica (C.In.E) Sineu.
This residency came about as the result of an invitation to ISACS CEO Lucy Medlycott to attend Fira B! - the Professional Balearic Music and Performing Arts Market - Residencies International Meeting last September on their International residency programme supported by the Institut Ramon Llull.
During this visit - International
‘Ireland and the Balearic region are in a very similar position creatively and culturally.’ said ISACS CEO Lucy Medlycott. ‘The synergies between the two regions instantly rang a chord with me and I could see the potential for fruitful partnerships between our two island cultures. It was obvious that CinE Sineu would be the ideal partner for our Irish Aerial Creation Centre and that they could form a strong connection. We are very pleased to see this taking shape and look forward to the opportunities for Balearic and ISACS artists to exchange and share ideas together.’
