Meet our latest L.E.A.P. Trainee!

Merve LEAP trainee
Introducing our new L.E.A.P. trainee! Merve Yılmaz is the sixth inductee taking part in our L.E.A.P. programme this year. She will be assisting the team and learning new skills in Communications and Event Coordination from June-September 2018.
The ISACS L.E.A.P. programme began in 2017 and is a part of our professional training programme that provides experience for future arts leaders in research, communications and event coordination. L.E.A.P. stands for Learn, Experience, Achieve, and Prepare and trainees receive real-world experience working in an arts organisation using the learning-by-doing approach.

Get to know Merve, before meeting her on the field at Spraoi Festival 2018 this August!

Merve Yılmaz
Communications and Event Co-ordination Assistant

'I’m Merve Yılmaz from Istanbul, Turkey. I am studying Journalism and I’ve also graduated in Audio-visual Techniques and Media Production. I’ve worked in music festivals, art events for Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts and as a Graphic Designer in our faculty’s Media Center. I’ve come to Ireland on an Erasmus Internship scheme to work with ISACS and take part in the LEAP programme. I’m really happy and excited for this opportunity and about learning a lot about the street arts, circus and spectacle sector in Ireland. I believe working here will give me new skills and a different perspective.'

Many thanks to our previous Communications LEAP trainee Coline Paques. We wish her all the best back in France!

You can learn more about the L.E.A.P. Programme and the training available on our professional development page.
