Major Investment in National Arts & Cultural Centres announced
For the first time in 10 years, the Department of Arts, Heritage and the Gaeltacht have made a significant investment into Arts Infrastructure under the Capital Scheme 2016 – 2018.
The announcement was made as part of the new Creative Ireland Programme and over 56 cultural organisations nationwide will benefit. Not only that, but they have earmarked seven flagship projects around the country and included in that magic seven, is none other than our members at The Irish Aerial Creation Centre, Limerick who will receive funding of €350,000 towards establishing Ireland’s first ever permanent Circus Creation centre.
‘The Creative Ireland Programme places a focus on investing in our cultural infrastructure, because high quality infrastructure is critical for a vibrant arts and culture sector, which in turn underpins social cohesion and supports sustainable economic growth.’ said Minister Humphreys.
