ISACS present at the Arts Council Festival Information Clinic in Cork
Karl Wallace, Head of Festivals at the Arts Council invited ISACS Director Lucy Medlycott to present at the Festival Information Clinic session, which took place in Cork on the 26th April at the Everyman Theater. As one of the guest speakers, she shared insights and tips about the value and importance of presenting art in the public space and how these art forms are rooted in public engagement, reaction and transformation.
These information sessions provide information on the funding schemes and supports available to festivals in 2019 and 2020. They also include details on how to loan from the Arts Council Collection, aswell as a presentation from three various national organisations who provide supports to festivals along with a Q&A for those in attendance.
This trip in Cork was also the occasion to visit the circus training and creation space Circus Factory, whose goal is to promote circus and street arts, and provide training opportunities for all ages and levels.
