ISACS to take part in the international street theatre festival Tête-à-tête in Germany!


This week, ISACS CEO Lucy Medlycott will be attending the Tete a Tete Festival, Rastatt, Germany on invitation as an International Mentor for young German artists. The Irish Street Arts, Circus and Spectacle Network (ISACS) is looking forward to discovering the festival's programme, attending the professional sessions and taking part in the KOPF an KOPF mentoring programme supporting three young German artists Anni KüpperAnne Holdig and Mitja Averhoff. 

Tête-à-tête is the biggest international street theatre festival in Germany. It has a unique atmosphere with a contemporary focus and a cross-genres programme. Every two years, international and professional artists from all over Europe come to Rastatt to transform the baroque city into the home for free contemporary outdoors and street arts, attracting hundreds of thousands of visitors with an interdisciplinary mixture of dance, circus arts, theatre and performance. 

This year, tête-à-tête celebrates its 25th anniversary from 29th May to 3rd June 2018 and stays innovative. 

At tête-à-tête, artistic newcomers will meet well-known crowd favourites, renowned productions will meet experimental young talents, and visually stunning stage productions will meet poetic installations as the festival welcomes 16 nations, 47 groups, 270 shows, 12 German premieres 4 World premier in five days and six nights.

This year is the first edition of the KOPF 
an KOPF mentoring programme, in which Tête-à-tête is offering a mentoring programme for young German artists. They will be guided by international PROs as tandem partners and will join the PRO sessions and the festival to benefit from professionals' expertise and widen their horizons and networks. 

Lucy is looking forward to working with the international delegation: Imaginarius artistic director Bruno Costa, Tanya Ruiter of HH Producties, Mike Ribalta of FiraTàrrega and Jens Frimann Hansen of Helsingør Teater plus Passage Festival, who are all members of the Circostrada's FRESH STREET Workgroup. Many conversations and discussions to be had in the lead up to this large-scale international conference which forms part of Galway 2020 European Capital of Culture.
