ISACS Network Strategic Plan 2019-2021 Launch

ISACS-Network-Strategic-Plan-2019-2021-launch
We're delighted to introduce Irish Street Arts, Circus & Spectacle Network's Strategic Plan 2019-2021: Empowering Street, Circus and Spectacle Arts, officially launched at Wexford Arts Centre on Thursday 1st of November 2018 thanks to the support of Arts Council Ireland and Wexford County Arts Department.

ISACS - The Irish Street Arts, Circus & Spectacle Network - is Ireland's leading support and advocacy organisation for the development of Street Arts, Circus and Spectacle Art Forms in Ireland today. We represent over 100 member organisations and individuals across Ireland and beyond, involving over 5000 individuals in 2017. Since its creation in 2010, ISACS has played an enormous role, transforming the cultural landscape for the street, circus and spectacle sector in Ireland through:

building a strong, supportive, open network
sharing information, resources and knowledge widely
creating new opportunities for Irish artists at home and abroad
representing and communicating on behalf of these art forms on various issues and multiple levels

The ISACS Network is now a “go-to” organisation for information and support for street arts, circus and spectacle art forms and is a vital part of major international networks and has fostered strong relationships with the Arts Council, Culture Ireland, local authorities and Irish and international festivals to support and grow these dynamic and public art forms on behalf of its members.

Our Strategic Plan 2019-2021 has been informed by ‘Making Great Art Work’, ‘Culture 2025’ and ‘Project Ireland 2040’, which all share a common view - to make the arts more accessible to all citizens of Ireland. With it, we are committed to supporting our members and looking forward to addressing the challenges ahead.

Through ‘Empowering Street, Circus and Spectacle Arts’ we articulate the main aspirations and hopes for the future development of the Irish Street Arts, Circus and Spectacle Network and its membership. We would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the central role played by the members of ISACS in expressing their needs and shaping the priorities that are set out in this document.

‘Empowering Street, Circus and Spectacle Arts’ sets the tone for a new generation of creativity and collective support for, and within, this growing sector. We look forward to exploring and soaring together into new territories with these most dynamic, democratic and inclusive of art forms.

We would like to extend a warm ‘thank you’ to:
•  ISACS board members, past and present, who contribute their expertise and ensure that the structure and direction of ISACS delivers on the needs of its members,
•  our core stakeholders - the Arts Council of Ireland - who have had the vision and the resolve to support and encourage the ISACS network since its inception,
•  our core staff - Lucy Medlycott, CEO, and Charlotte Haffner, our Communications Officer,
as well as the many volunteers, in particular, the LEAP trainees – who all invest enormous amounts of time, passion and energy into the network and for the future of the street arts, circus and spectacle art forms.

And finally, we would like to thanks Wexford County Arts Department and County Council for their continuous support, in particular, Arts officer Liz Burns, as well as Wexford Arts Centre for hosting such a significant launch and Lynda Harman at Chameleon Creatives for the beautiful design of the document.
