Ana Monro Theatre, as well as being Slovenia's oldest street theatre, also runs SUGLA, a street theatre school for young artists offering a two-year training program that helps them produce and emerge in the professional street
During the General Meeting, Circostrada members will be introduced to the subject 'Education and Training in Street Arts'. We will be given the opportunity to experience existing educational and training practices and to learn about their influence on the development of street theatre and circus and their social impact.
These three days will also be the moment to discuss the current and upcoming activities of the network's six work groups during joint sessions and to attend professional workshops with local experts. ISACS main focus at this meeting will be participating in a workgroup to prepare Fresh Street#3 which will be hosted in Galway in 2019 in partnership with Galway2020 and the National University of Ireland Galway.
Finally, we will have a chance to meet with members of the European Federation for Education and Training in Street Arts (EFETSA) as well as with representatives of Ljubljana's Department of Culture and Ljubljana's Tourism Board.
This will be a great networking and educational opportunity that we are looking forward to sharing with our ISACS members when we arrive back in Ireland. Last but not least, members of the European Network will have a taste of the Slovenian culture while attending an exciting artistic programme featuring four unique shows: The Things We Carry (ŠUGLA Theatre), Ljubljana Stories (Ana Monro Theatre), Streetwalker (Group KUD Ljud) and CABARET (CirkoBalkana).
