In 2014 Dublin City Council prepared draft Street Performers Bye-Laws to encourage quality street performance in the City in a manner consistent with overall public interest.

Following a six week period of public consultation 88 submissions were received and considered leading to a revised draft which took account of many of the matters raised in the submissions.

At a meeting of the City Council on 2nd February 2015 the elected Members voted to make the Street Performers Bye-Laws 2015 and that they should be reviewed after a period of six months in operation. These will come into effect on the 7th April 2015. The Draft Bye laws may be viewed here.
