What's on at Dublin Dance Festival?
Dublin Dance Festival is the leading dance event on the Irish arts calendar. Each year in May, the Festival brings together dance artists and choreographers from across the world to share
'DDF delivers excellent and diverse dance experiences for the widest possible audience. We are committed to developing new artistic collaborations to shift expectations and create exciting artistic trajectories for dance in Ireland.'
The festival starts on the 1st of May and has a very exciting programme.
As part of First Looks event, the ISACS member Deirdre Griffin will perform at the Project Arts Centre a new version of her Headonbody work: Soup.
Soup is an evocative dance solo inspired by the experience of bereavement and how it can give everyday moments an unusually significant quality.
The piece interweaves movement, textiles and sound to represent a familiar yet near inexpressible experience in an original form that utilises surreal imagery, humour and echoes of familial memory.
11 May - 18 May, 12pm & 2pm, €10, Project Art Center, Dublin

Molly Dowling | ISACS Profile
Molly was half-baked in London for ten years before being flipped over to Ireland to crisp up for another ten. She is now fully cooked, 21, infused with seven years of Galway Community Circus and Fidget Feet, followed by four years of Dance training (two in Dublin, two in University of Limerick). The gooey arty marinade that is London and Galway soaked to her bones and she loves all art forms. So much so that she can’t choose one and is now living as a freelance artist, writing, playing music, photographing, painting, and moving (in air and on ground).
