Circostrada General Meeting at Cirque-Théâtre d’Elbeuf, in France

We’ll be heading to France from Wednesday 5th-Friday 9th of December for the last Circostrada Network [European Network for Circus and Street Arts] General Meeting of the year, co-organised by Cirque-Théâtre d’Elbeufin partnership with Atelier 231 and CircusNextCircostrada Network advocates and lobbies for our collective artforms at European level. Over 30 different countries are represented in the network and over 100 different members ranging across art forms, roles and functions.

During this meeting, we’ll have three days to explore the local circus and street arts scenes through a travelling format designed around three key cultural venues of the “Metropolis Rouen Normandie”: Cirque-Théâtre d’ElbeufAtelier 231 and Pôle régional des savoirs (Regional knowledge hub), following the theme "Circus and Cultural Heritage". On the agenda: networking activities, thematic workshops, meeting with artists, conferences, work sessions dedicated to the network’s projects, a rich artistic programme including shows and works-in-progress with our European partners but it will also be the moment to discuss the current and upcoming activities of the network's six work groups during joint sessions.

ISACS main focus at this meeting will be participating in the workgroup to prepare FRESH STREET#3, the International Seminar for the development of Street Arts, which will be hosted in Galway in May 2019 in partnership with Galway2020 and the National University of Ireland Galway. 



We'll be finalising the contents, topics and overall structure of this biennial conference, which theme is 'Place and Identity', driven largely by the global and local crisis that the world is experiencing currently in relation to how we relate, feel and perceive same. 

This event is scheduled to take place from 22 – 24th May 2019. It will see over 250 international delegates with a professional background and passion for all thing’s street arts from all over the world in attendance. Artists, Practitioners, Programmers, Producers, Festivals, Stakeholders, Policymakers, Journalists and more will make up the audience.

The event will be hosted by the National University of Ireland Galway, with a one-day exploration of place and identity on the beautiful Inis Oírr – Aran Islands, Atlantic Ocean, Galway.

The Áras Éanna Arts Centre on Inis Oírr have joined forces with the Irish Street Arts, Circus and Spectacle Network to offer a four-week artistic residency towards the creation of new work for FRESH STREET#3.
