Maria da Paixao, is an artist from Brazil with a background in Theatre. Her main passion is to showcase different perspectives into her performances, mixing circus, theater and dance. As she would say: ‘ art is more than a way of communication, is a way to break paradigms’. Her main skill are hula-hoops, but she also dances with other flow props , including fire, and also performs with aerial hoop and pole dance. In Ireland, she has worked along with Circus 250, Fire and Circus Performers and The Nightmare Realm, among others. She also do workshops and hoop classes.

Facts:She recently did comedy pole dance piece in the Gala of the Pitch Festival in Cork
She did a play in Brazil called ‘Tutorial de tudo’ where hula-hooping was included in the play.
She is a self-taught flow artist.
She used to teach hulahoops in the community circus in her hometown.
She was a marching band majorette in her hometown
