Red Torc Performance – Grafton Street

The work started as an idea to make ethical jewellery. The Red Torc became an environmental performance piece, to explore themes of destruction- on both the natural world and also its impact on us as people. My process for concept development is through the experimental conversations, between body, form and material. Initial drawings that adorn the body and then the body in-turn informed. This performance was a work in progress showing, as part of the Ignition residency, a partnership between Dance Ireland and Dublin Circus project and funded by the Arts Council of Ireland. As part of this residency I was able to work with two mentors, performance artist Amanda Coogan and director of Company Chameleon, Kevin Edward Turner. I am looking to develop this piece with another residency and then tour with the performance.
