The ISACS Network and SpringMoves Dance Festival are thrilled to relaunch Where Dance Meets Street, in partnership with Wexford County Council, the National Opera House, the Welsh Government Office in Ireland, and The Arts Council of Ireland.
This year, Where Dance Meets dives into the collaborative space between Street and Dance. We’re excited to welcome Osian Meilir to Wexford Town for a dynamic two-day programme, from 9-10 May 2026. Following their performance of Qwerin, Osian will deliver a Masterclass at the Jerome Hynes Theatre.

Step into the world of Welsh folk dance, reimagined through the queer perspective of contemporary choreographer Osian Meilir. In this session, Meilir shares insights from their practice as a choreographer, performer, and maker for the outdoors, offering a glimpse into the creative journey behind Qwerin.
Participants will experiment with techniques that twist, transform, and subvert tradition; discovering new ways of engaging with cultural forms through guided exploration. This workshop invites artists to come together in a space that celebrates culture, identity, and community by fostering connection, curiosity, and creative exchange.

About Qwerin
Charged with Joy, Qwerin is inspired by the weaving and flowing patterns of traditional Welsh folk-dancing, combined with the pulsating energy of Queer nightlife. Qwerin is back, commenting on notions of Queerness and Welshness through a contemporary dance performance which celebrates culture, identity and community. To an original soundtrack by some of Wales’ most renowned musicians and costumes that give a new edge to the Welsh traditional dress, Qwerin truly is a feast for the senses.
Qwerin was created in 2021 as a commission from Articulture and the Wales Outdoor Art Consortium. Since its inception Qwerin has toured extensively being presented in international festivals including Ten Days on the Island in Tasmania, La Biennale de la Danse in Lyon, France and at World EXPO in Osaka, Japan.
