ISACS is delighted to offer one ISACS artist a bursary to attend a 2 week street arts training programme in Catalunya at SPASA26.
What is SPASA?
SPASA offers training for artists and professionals who want to delve deeper into street arts, combining theory, practice and immersive experience to enhance creativity, critical thinking and the link with public space.
Objectives:
- Help implement training as an essential tool in the street arts sector.
- Weave an international collaboration network in the sector taking advantage of the contacts and synergies that may arise from the courses.
- Bringing together established companies, professionals and people who are just starting out
- Understand, learn and exchange techniques, knowledge, work methods and processes that can start from the same base, public space, but have very different approaches.
- Continue with the international recognition of FiraTàrrega and extend it to Aquelarre
How does it work?
The course lasts 16 days and is divided into two blocks: the experience as an audience member and professional at two major events, and the learning process as a student through the training sessions.
Street arts training Summer Academy offers 72 teaching hours divided into four training courses, delivered by four companies specializing in different street arts disciplines. All teaching activities take place entirely in English.
FiraTàrrega and Aquelarre Participants will experience FiraTàrrega and Aquelarre as both audience and professionals, with activities focused on understanding the organization, how the sector works, and artistic processes.
The course begins at the end of August, coinciding with Aquelarre. This is followed by two weeks of intensive training (with a break over the weekend in between) and ends with the experience at FiraTàrrega, including travel to Tàrrega and professional activities.
Complementary activities includes talks with professionals, access to PRO spaces, open rehearsals, and other activities linked to the two events. Please note that the organization does not cover FiraTàrrega tickets. Get your tickets at www.firatarrega.cat
Please note that ISACS members are entitled to a discounted registration fee of €40. To access this rate, please select “ISACS” as your organisation when registering on the Fira website. A €100 early-bird discount for participants registering before 1 June.
