World Circus Day 2024

Presented by Roscommon Arts Office in association with Motion Chapel, Promenade and Castlerea Rose Festival

Saturday 20 April at Somers Park, Castlerea 2 – 6pm

Circus Workshops: Join Galway Community Circus to try out some exciting circus skills including juggling, hulahoop, and tightwire. Their tutors will help you to discover skills you never knew you had! Suitable for all abilities and fitness levels and no experience necessary.

Circus shows: On Tish by Síolta Circus is a 30 minute explosive acrobatic show for all ages. A small eccentric tribe of noisy, boisterous beings are on the hunt for food, shelter and a bit of craic!

Cirkada by acrobatic duo Cirkado Circus is a hilarious and heart-warming 30 minute showabout companionship and all its ups and downs!

I Dance to Become Enormous by Jenny Tufts performs on a 3-meter-tall spiraling steelstructure in a dizzying display of power, surrender, and physics-defying partnership.

A Lovely Day for it is a seaside aerial performance by Freddy Burrows specialising in flooracrobatics and aerial straps.

Walkabouts include Juanita the Cleaner by Europe’s leading female clown Angelica Santander who tackles plastic pollution with dance, climate saving circus and several binloads of humour.

With live music from the Music Generation Roscommon, One Town One Voice Choir Roscommon and the Ukeydorys.
