About the Workshop
Join Carys and Graham – internationally touring acrobatic duo Hands Down Circus – for an acrobatics masterclass covering foundations and fundamentals of partner acrobatics. This workshop is for adults 18+.Participants will focus on exercises used for improving the strength, consistency and technique involved when safely climbing on other humans. The focus will be mainly on two highs; how to base, how to fly, many ways to climb and how to make sure you are doing all of these aspects safely and correctly with confidence!
This workshop will take place at Fr Burke Park in Galway’s Westend as part of our Mayhem Festival. Fr Burke Park is located on Father Griffin Road opposite the fire station. No on-site parking is available, but city centre parking is located nearby
About Hands Down Circus
Hands Down Circus is made up of Carys Nicholls and Graham Milligan. They aspire to create and perform original Circus Theatre using a unique blend of partner acrobatics, physical theatre, and prop manipulation, to invoke an environment of curiosity and absurdity, often using relatable or mundane objects.
Before completing their BA degree at The National Centre for Circus Arts, they studied for two years on the Foundation Degree at Circomedia in Bristol. There they developed their Physical Theatre skills, as well as studying and completing modules in Clowning, Stand Up Comedy, and Burlesque. This has made HDC well-rounded and versatile, taking inspiration from many different art forms.
