A work in progress by Russian-Irish artist Polina Shapkina; MAKOSH is being premiered for the first time at the Irish Aerial Dance Festival as part of a quadruple bill.
A blend of aerial dance & contemporary theatre, MAKOSH is and abstract work, ripe with surrealist imagery and existential questioning.
You are invited to experience the tangled forest of the human condition, through the tempestuous personal lens of a woman born into a specific time, place and set of circumstances.
MAKOSH – An experimental commentary on the age-old human search for meaning, purpose, and belonging in a world of dissolution and chaos.
Heavily influenced by the work of Carl Jung, MAKOSH is flavoured with motifs and references to slavic folk culture and soviet dystopianism.
