Youth Theatre Ireland is excited to offer you a taster workshop in Youth Drama Facilitation. The workshop will give you an excellent insight into the art of drama facilitation. You will be introduced to the facilitation practices and methodologies that will be further explored in the part-time training course that will commence September 2023

This training is for anyone over the age of eighteen who would like to develop their facilitation skills to work creatively with young people, and might be interest in learning more about our training course, such as:

What if I’m an experienced facilitator?
No worries, this taster is a great chance to meet like minded people and discover more about the upcoming part-time training course that will provide fresh approaches to your facilitation practice.
Part-Time Training Course?
Yes! Starting in September we will be providing training in two QQI Level 6 modules; Leadership and Engaging with Drama. These elements were previously part of the ArtsTrain course. This training will be delivered one weekend per month for nine months. More information on the training course will be provided at the Taster Workshop.
Who’s facilitating this workshop?
Dave Kelly and Barry Morgan.
Dave is author of Laying the Foundations, and Youth Theatre Ireland’s National Training Co-ordinator. He developed and delivered Artstrain, Youth Theatre Ireland’s full-time Drama Facilitation QQI level 6 course, which ran until from 1999 – 2017.
Barry is Youth Theatre Ireland’s Special Projects Officer. He is a previous graduate of ArtsTrain and co-founder of Tailtiu Theatre. He is co-artistic director of Mosney Youth Theatre and the De Luain Players.
