Working with a producer for the first time is a big step and it’s natural to have some concerns. Especially when you’ve been used to doing it all and it’s a natural part of the production process for you. Or you might have no clear idea of what a producer actually does and how they can help you. So where do you begin?
ISACS member company Kath Gorman of Promenade will share her perspective on setting up good working practices for working with a producer, finding the right producer fit as well as demystifying the producer role and how you can get the best from such a partnership.

About the Speaker
Kath Gorman is an experienced creative producer, programmer and arts management consultant who has worked in both Ireland and the UK across venues, festivals and resource organisations. She founded Promenade in July 2021. Promenade is an awardee of the Arts Council’s Creative Production Supports Scheme. Past roles in Ireland include; Head of Participation & Engagement, Artistic Curator & Associate Producer for Cork Midsummer Festival and Director of Kinsale Arts Week; and in London include, Director of Jacksons Lane and Lead Producer at BBC Blast for their creative learning festivals (various London locations). She is passionate about increased support for producers and artist self-producers. Past board memberships include: Cork Printmakers, Little Angel Theatre and Total Theatre (including steering group member of the inaugural Total Theatre Awards for Edinburgh Fringe).
