This training session is for ISACS artists and arts organisations to learn about best practise about Governance, Management, Board. For this reason, we have invited Derek O’Reilly from Carmichael Ireland and Ulla Hokkannen, who currently serves as a Board member at the National Circus Festival of Ireland and previously directed Galway Community Circus.
This Zoom session will run on Tuesday, 15 October, from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. The training is free and is exclusively for ISACS members.
Derek has many years’ experience as a manager and trainer in the nonprofit sector, both nationally and internationally. He has been Training Manager for Carmichael since 2008 and manages and delivers training programmes on governance and good practice to a wide range of nonprofits throughout Ireland.
He was involved in the development of the Governance Code for Charites, Community and Voluntary Groups and was a licenced Quality Assurance Trainer and Mentor from 2009 to 2012, validated by Charities Evaluation Services UK. He has been an Assessor for The Good Governance Awards since its inception in 2016.
Ulla is the current Project Development Manager at Forum Virium in Helsinki. She was the Executive Director of Galway Community Circus from 2009 to 2023 and has been a board member of several arts organisations over the years. Her connection with Ireland is still robust, as she serves as a Board Member for the National Circus Festival of Ireland.
