Climate action is an area of growing concern for all of us. As artists – individuals and organisations – it can be hard to know what to do about it, where to begin, and where we can make climate-positive changes in our own lives and artistic practices. In this session, artist and activist Lynn Haughton (founder and designer at the Upcycle Movement), will present her perspective from a career of environmental action in art.

Working across design, art, education and community engagement, Lynn transforms discarded materials and turns them into new products, artworks, and creative experiences which honour the story, beauty and value of these materials. Lynn collaborates with communities, schools, businesses and organisations to explore more circular ways of thinking and making.
At the heart of her work is the belief that creativity and can make environmental action feel tangible, visual, empowering and hopeful. Lynn’s work inspires and invites others to see possibility and value in what we have come to deem as worthless while exploring our connection with the natural world and our collective role in creating a circular and sustainable future.
