Taking Flight is delighted to launch our 3-part professional development programme, funded by Arts Council Ireland. Please note that this programme is not limited to aerial dance artists.


17-18 February & 2-3 March

Over 4 days, participants will be introduced to #artisticresearchmethod. They will learn to use their circus practice to explore questions, concepts and ideas. Using the feedback method devised by #lizlerman they will learn to give constructive feedback that empowers the artist-researcher. Applications are through studios online booking system and close 10 February. Course Fee: €300


5 April – 28 June

Participants will take 3 months to explore, develop and present short-form pieces of work. Applicants must have completed EXPLORE or a similar training in artistic research method. This will be done through a series developmental workshops; individual support through the use of Outside Eyes from the fields of circus, dance and theatre; a curated weekend at @dublindancefestival ; over 50 hours of open studio time. Applications close 10 March. Course Fee: €400


9 August – 3 November

Participants will collaborate with 3 co-directors from the fields of circus and theatre to build a full show based on the story of CORALINE by Neil Gaiman. Applications close 28 July. Audition on 9 August. No fee.
