Programme

Acts

We were very happy that alongside amazing Irish and international acts, a lot of ISACS artists and companies were invited to perform this year at the NCFI. The Circus Siamsa on Friday evening – a variety show that stands at the heart of the Festival – was MCed by ISACS artists Lords of Strut and hosted short performances from Tumble Circus and Gracie May Marshall (who along with her partner Cristian Fierro presented an excerpt of their latest work Fling). We were also extremely delighted to watch a double bill that featured performances by ISACS artists Cikada Circus and The TeaTime Company. Last but not least, both of the ISACS DELVErs had the opportunity to present a glimpse of their work: one during the Renegade, an open mic for circus performers, and the other one

Talks

The weekend was also an opportunity to network and talk about Circus with professionals of the sector during the Share Forum organised by ISACS with an open circus forum to discuss ‘‘Overcoming Obstacles‘ with members of the network attending, followed by a Youth circus Focus led by Amelie Bal from Galway Community Circus in partnership with ISACS and Arts Council Ireland.

Training

The DELVErs also had the opportunity to participate in all of the workshops that were part of this years’ NCFI edition. Additionally, ISACS was very excited to help organise a Liz Lerman Critical Response Process Training a workshop that gave all participants the opportunity to get acquainted with a feedback offering and receiving method that proves time and again to be extremely useful in developing works in progress. Special thanks go to Natasha Gore who facilitated this workshop, Brian O’Connell for the help offered in bringing this workshop to Tralee and to The Teatime Company who kindly offered to present an excerpt of their show as working material during the workshop.

Many thanks to National Circus Festival of Ireland for their support and generosity; and thank you to Arts Council Ireland for their continued support of ISACS and our work.
