In Your Space Circus are hosting a workshop with Ronan Jenkinson (former member of Youth Circus at the then BCCS (now Circusful)) on Saturday 7th September from 11am – 2pm in the Glassworks, Derry.
Ronan is currently working with the Copenhagen Collective, he has also worked with Gravity & Other Myths, Les7Doights, Cirque Eloize and Barely Methodical Troupe (the list goes on).
This is an acrobatics workshop for Youth Circus trainees, professional trainers, and exceptional Youth Circus potential acrobats (aged 14+). Please be aware that this is a mixed-age workshop.
Ronan’s workshop will be suitable for those with existing acrobatics skills. There will be a key focus on partner acrobatics and group skills during the workshop – with some tumbling during the warm up section.
IMPORTANT: Basic level of conditioning:
- 10 pushups
- 20 sit-ups
- 45 second dish hold
- 30 second lightly spotted handstand with an unassisted kick up
- Climb in and out of two high unspotted
- Jump down from 1.5 meters to the floor without touching hands
- 10 consecutive squat jumps with tuck jump in the air with knees past 90°
(These are not compulsory but they are minimum expectations to be working towards!)
