Learn More About Us

The Irish Street Arts, Circus & Spectacle Network We are a collaborative network of people and organisations interested in the development of the Street Arts, Circus and Spectacle art forms for, with and by Irish artists. We represent over 70 member organisations and individuals across Ireland and beyond. We have a voluntary Board of Directors which are elected by the members in rotation at our Annual General Meeting. We aim to raise the profile, increase recognition and support the development of the sector by:
  • Information and resource sharing
  • Advocacy and Policy development
  • Training and Professional Support
  • National and International Networking

ISACS are delighted to announce their annual Open Forum event ‘Share’ that is taking place on Saturday 12th November from 11.30-1.30pm in association with the National Circus Festival of Ireland.

Come along, hear a wide range of views and share your opinions, ideas & experience in a safe open forum for all interested in the future development of these art forms. This is a free, public, open event and with a diverse selection of contributions ranging from performers and programmers to directors and stakeholders, a lively discussion is guaranteed.

About the Contributors:

Niamh Ní Raghallaigh is a multi skilled performer with a background in gymnastics and a BA Hons Degree in Circus Arts, from The National Centre for Circus Arts. While her main discipline is hand balancing, she is also an experienced acrobat, singer songwriter and musician. Her most distinctive performance style is singing a song whilst upside down displaying various hand stand shapes, transfers and acrobatics. Niamh is a founding member and co-manager of British circus company Silver Lining, who she is currently performing and touring with.

Paddy Waters has been performing throughout Europe for many years on the street, at festivals and in theatres. He was involved with the London Olympics, Commonwealth games and Tour de France and many more high profile events.

Dr. Niamh NicGhabhann is the course director for the MA Festive Arts programme at the Irish World Academy of Music and Dance, University of Limerick. Her research explores festivals, public space and cultural entrepreneurship. The MA Festive Arts programme was voted ‘Best New Course’ at the 2015 GradIreland awards. According to the judges, ‘
Not only is this course a world first, it supports national economic, social and cultural needs with a clear practical focus’.

Kath Gorman is the Artistic Curator for Cork Midsummer Festival (CMF). Previous positions include Project Manager, Cork Ignite; Associate Producer, CMF;  Director, Kinsale Arts Week; Festival Producer, BBC Blast; and Director, Jacksons Lane.  She is Chair of Cork Printmakers and is a past board member of Total Theatre and the Little Angel Theatre London.
