This workshop looks at how to bring together your own particular way of clowning (your stupidity and craziness) with circus techniques, from juggling to aerial.
How can you be both a stupid, incompetent clown and at the same time remain focused on the high level of discipline demanded by your technique?
This is a rare opportunity to work with the specialist knowledge of Jon Davison, who has dedicated much of his teaching to the question of how to create clown material using individual skills, from circus to dance and music.
Jon Davison is a clown performer, teacher, director, producer, researcher and musician with over 30 years’ experience.
He founded the London Clown School in order to provide regular clown training for those resident or passing through. He also teaches at Royal Central School of Speech and Drama and Rose Bruford College and internationally. He is the author of two books, Clown Readings in Theatre Practice and Clown Training, a practical guide, which have become major textbooks for students of clowning worldwide.
This course is suitable for anyone interested in exploring clowning, with a minimum level in at least one circus technique.
